Since founding Alta Fox Capital in 2018, he has been at the forefront of managing the firm’s strategy and operations, guiding the management of several hundred million dollars in assets for clients with a long-term investment focus.
Alta Fox Capital, under his leadership, has become notable in the finance industry for its intensive fundamental analysis and its engagement in shareholder activism, contributing to substantial improvements in corporate governance within various companies. Connor has also served on the boards of numerous public and private companies, showcasing his depth of experience and leadership in corporate settings. His expertise is frequently acknowledged in major financial publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and CNBC. In addition to his business accomplishments, he is actively involved in the academic sector, delivering lectures and participating in discussions primarily focused on investment strategies and shareholder rights, including a prominent guest lecture at Columbia Business School.
Educationally, Conno excelled at Harvard University, where he earned an AB in Government studies magna cum laude. His college years were marked by significant leadership within the Harvard Financial Analysts Club, where he served as Chief Investment Officer and President, steering the club to success in multiple investing competitions.
His early professional life included a key internship at Goldman Sachs’ Special Situations Group in New York in 2013. By 2014, he was notably the first analyst hired directly from college by Scopia Capital. Over the next four years, he refined his skills across the Consumer, TMT, and Industrial sectors. This foundational experience was crucial as he moved back to Texas to launch Alta Fox, officially opening in April 2018. He continues to lead as a managing partner, focusing primarily on expanding the firm’s reach within the Dallas and Fort Worth markets.
