Microbiome friendly anti-dandruff shampoos
Even though dandruff affects one out of two French people, it is one of the subjects that beauty journalists are least passionate about. This may change with these new treatments that rebalance the microbiome to eliminate dandruff permanently. Indeed, recent discoveries show that the good health of the scalp is associated with the balance of all the micro-organisms that naturally cohabit on its surface.
Clean mascaras, even in supermarkets
Accelerating naturalness in supermarkets After Clever Beauty and La Bouche Rouge, who initiated the recyclable and refillable mascara (the latter only for Clever Beauty: Mascara Invincible, 8.5 g, €28.90; Refill 8.5 g, €24.90), we are witnessing this spring a surge of clean and/or eco-designed mascaras from the “heavyweights” of the sector in supermarkets.
Innovations in body nutrition
The most sensorial shower oil! Winter is here and our bodies are crying out for softness and warmth. Perfect for pampering it as soon as you wash, Rituals’ Serendipity three-phase shower oil (limited edition, 200 ml, €9.50).
Zero water waste with Garnier's new leave-in conditioners
Garnier is launching Ultra-Doux Leave-In Conditioner (three references: Trésors de Miel for fragile and brittle hair, Huile Merveilleuse with Argan Oil and Camellia for dry and dull hair, Coco & Aloé Vera for all hair types, 200 ml, €4.90, limited editions). Each tube should save 100 liters of water, according to the brand.
A nail polish remover that restores cuticles
This clean and vegan nail polish remover with an oil texture not only removes nail makeup quickly and well (which is not always the case with oil-based removers), but also nourishes and restores the cuticles and skin around the nails. We owe it to Kure Bazaar. Kure Bazaar’s Detoxifying Cleansing Oil (100 ml glass bottle, €28) is a skincare formula that contains 100% naturally derived ingredients.
Solid conditioners
Universal… Umai was one of the first to imagine it (Le Soin L’Après-Shampoing Solide, 40 g, €19). Its natural active ingredients all come from France (only seven ingredients, such as flaxseed oil that nourishes the hair without weighing it down, oat butter that brings softness and shine, organic rosemary and emulsifiers from wheat and rapeseed that help rinse the product easily).
Vegetal vitamin C, the star ingredient of the fall season
In recent years, vitamin C has become a must-have in the radiance-uniformity-firmness department (it reduces hyperpigmentation, helps stimulate collagen and brightens the complexion), both as a dermatological reference and as a must-have for consumers, who widely praise it for its visible effectiveness.
The pear note in perfumery
Apart from citrus, it is one of the few fruits that brings a joyful and refined freshness to fragrances (neither girly nor mainstream, unlike many other fruits with syrupy accents). Its fruity scent is always synthetically reconstituted (notably with hexyl acetate). It’s so fresh that Guerlain dedicated an Aqua Allegoria to it in 2016: Pera Granita (eau de toilette 75 ml, €78), a pear granita scented with bergamot.
