#8 All inequalities and subsequent privileges must be acknowledged. You acknowledged one of them yourself in your post. The big smoke isn’t for everyone ‘that’s why Geelong exists.’ And you’re right, it’s not for everyone. But it’s for most people. That’s why it exists and it’s roughly 20 times bigger than Geelong and surrounds. This stack of free agents we’ve signed that have helped us stay competitive? It’s two players high and one of them has only been there for one completed season.
#16 There were recent years when even my cats had more members than both these clubs. That should never happen but did. Large in number but shows they aren’t that passionate unless winning, unlike more loyal fan bases in pies and Bombers. Since covid there has only been 2 clubs not to increase memberships. They are Hawks and of course Richmond.
I heard this yesterday and thought it couldn't possibly be true given how often clubs sack coaches. I looked it up and saw we've only had four coaches since we sacked John Devine in 1988. Malcolm Blight, Gary Ayres and Mark Thompson all resigned as coach. None of them were sacked and given how successful Chris Scott's coaching tenure has been, there is zero chance of him being sacked as once his time at Geelong is done, he'll leave the club on his own terms.
