Best of a Shallow Year recognises the most exceptional work, in each major genre of fiction, poetry and essay, published in *The Shallow Tales Review* in the focus year. My epistolary essay, "Let Me Tell You How My Father Slowly Turned Me Into a Nervous Wreck" was named Best Essay of the 2022 cycle.
Longlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize in 2026 for coming out in the Top 200 out of over 7800 entries.
