Cynthia Giles’s Biography

  • An M. A. in Literature and Psychology from the University of Dallas, where I studied literary criticism with Louise Cowan and phenomenological psychology with James Hillman, in the Institute of Philosophical Studies.

  • A Ph. D. in Interdisciplinary Humanities from the University of Texas at Dallas, where I studied cultural anthropology and aesthetic philosophy with Robert Plant Armstrong, taught as a graduate assistant in the Visual Arts program, and wrote my dissertation on archetypal psychology as applied to history and culture (with a focus on Nazism and the Holocaust).

  • Faculty member at several community colleges, and DeVry University, teaching courses in literature, history, psychology, and world religions.

  • Managing Editor of Spring Publications, publisher of journals and books related to Jungian psychology. Editor in Chief of Saybrook Publishers, a small trade house specializing in books at the intersection of politics and psychology..
