Objectives Oral clefts, presenting as cleft lip alone (CL), cleft palate alone (CP), or cleft lip and palate (CL/P), are the most common craniofacial defects. Prenatal detection rates of CP and CL/P, especially isolated, are low. We describe our modified approach for detection of fetal isolated CP and CL/P during routine 2DUS exams in mixed-risk women during the late 1st to early 2nd and mid-trimester anatomy scans.
