1 Introduction Galactic cosmic rays (GCRs), the charged particles with energies from several tens up to 1020 eV/nucleon and sources outside the solar system, show an 11-year cycle for lower energies (≲1 GeV/nucleon) due to the modulation by the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) (e.g., McDonald, 1998). The sources of GCRs are mostly high-energy phenomena, such as supernova explosions, neutron stars, or pulsars (Cronin, 1999).
