Assessing strategies to improve adherence to vivax malaria treatment in the Amazon region using educational materials and a mobile health strategy (AdheVivax project): an exploratory mixed-method study
Background Adherence to chloroquine–primaquine treatment is essential for preventing Plasmodium vivax recurrence, but the 7-day primaquine regimen may be difficult to complete because of pill burden, adverse effects, early symptom improvement, and forgetfulness. We evaluated a culturally adapted educational and mobile health (mHealth) intervention to support treatment adherence in the Brazilian Amazon. Methods We conducted a sequential exploratory mixed-methods study in Manaus and Ipixuna.
Utilization of guarana ( Paullinia cupana) biowaste from the Amazon for supercapacitor electrode production
The valorization of Amazonian biomass residues into porous carbon materials represents a sustainable strategy for the development of energy storage technologies. In this study, guarana (Paullinia cupana) husk, an agro-industrial by-product, was converted into activated carbon through pyrolysis followed by KOH chemical activation for supercapacitor electrode investigations.

Numerical Simulation of Constrained Flows through Porous Media Employing Glimm’s Scheme
1. Introduction Transport phenomena in porous media present several relevant engineering applications, including problems that impact energy self-sufficiency and the environment. Among the examples, there are underground flows. They may contain various contaminants picked up from seepage and soil percolation. Another pertinent phenomenon is related to oil extraction, including enhanced oil recovery.
