Designs, tome 5 Daisuke Igarashi 2026
Titre original : Designs, book 5 (2019)

Physicochemical properties and application of concentrated KN(SO2F)2/sulfolane solution in high-voltage high-power K-ion batteries
Physicochemical properties and application of concentrated KN(SO2F)2/sulfolane solution in high-voltage high-power K-ion batteries† To achieve improved performance and practical applications of K-ion batteries (KIBs), which are considered next-generation batteries without resource constraints, electrolytes that can maximize the electrochemical performance of K-insertable electrode materials are crucial.
All-Solid-State Ion-Selective Electrode Inspired from All-Solid-State Li-Ion Batteries
Ion-selective electrodes (ISEs) are a class of electrochemical sensors that are renowned for their ability to determine ion concentrations (more accurately, activity) in solutions with exceptional selectivity and sensitivity. (1−7) ISEs play a critical role in various applications, such as food nutritional analysis, (8) drainage analysis, (9) and fertilizer concentration monitoring in large-scale hydroponic farming systems.

Stability of RbO2 as a Discharge Product of Metal–O2 Batteries
Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! The cathode reaction in metal–oxygen batteries, also referred to as metal–air batteries, has been extensively studied for the electrochemical management of the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) to harness it for energy conversion. Alkali metal–oxygen batteries utilizing nonaqueous electrolytes have garnered interest for their high theoretical energy density, which leverages atmospheric oxygen as the cathode active material.

The kinetics and basal levels of the transcriptome response during Effector-Triggered Immunity in Arabidopsis are mainly controlled by four immune signaling sectors
Abstract To observe the transcriptome response during Effector-Triggered Immunity (ETI) without complications from any other pathogen factors or heterogeneously responding cell populations, we transgenically and conditionally expressed the Pseudomonas syringae effector AvrRpt2 in Arabidopsis leaves.

Na Diffusion in Hard Carbon Studied with Positive Muon Spin Rotation and Relaxation
Introduction Recently, Na-ion battery materials have attracted considerable attention (1−3) because sodium is more abundant than lithium, resulting in lower material costs. Na has a relative abundance of 2.83%, whereas Li has only 0.0065%. (4) Although several Na transition-metal oxides are available as a cathode material for Na-ion batteries, the most common anode materials for Li-ion batteries, that is, graphite and soft carbon, are not compatible with Na-ion batteries.

MgO‐Template Synthesis of Extremely High Capacity Hard Carbon for Na‐Ion Battery
Abstract Extremely high capacity hard carbon for Na‐ion battery, delivering 478 mAh g−1, is successfully synthesized by heating a freeze‐dried mixture of magnesium gluconate and glucose by a MgO‐template technique. Influences of synthetic conditions and nano‐structures on electrochemical Na storage properties in the hard carbon are systematically studied to maximize the reversible capacity. Nano‐sized MgO particles are formed in a carbon matrix prepared by pre‐treatment of the mixture at 600 °C.
KANTA ON MANGA / Weird science manga highlights ‘Umwelt’
Rapid progress is being made in the field of genome editing, an advanced type of genetic engineering that involves directly rewriting genes. A technology called CRISPR-Cas9, which was introduced in 2012, is said to be able to edit gene information as simply as carrying out a cut and paste command on a computer, and there are hopes that the technology could lead to cures for hereditary diseases.
Government-backed fund to invest in Texas Shinkansen project
WASHINGTON--Tokyo will pour millions of dollars into a U.S. company to pave the way for the introduction of Shinkansen bullet train technology in the United States. The investment, planned by a government-affiliated fund, is seen as a key step in plans for bullet trains to be whizzing through the countryside of Texas. Central Japan Railway Co. (JR Tokai) is planning to export trains based on the N700 series that runs on the Tokaido Shinkansen Line.
INTERVIEW/ Adam Posen: TPP unquestionably in Japan's interest
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is set to become the first Japanese leader to deliver an address to a joint session of the U.S. Congress. Abe is heading for the United States, and will hold talks with President Barack Obama. What do Americans, as well as people around the world, expect to hear from the Japanese leader? We asked Adam Posen, president at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, for some answers. Question: What are the main topics for Abe’s visit on the economic front?
INTERVIEW/ Fred Bergsten: U.S., Japan made big mistakes in opposing AIIB
China has been working hard to create a new financial institution, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and major U.S. allies, including the U.K. and Germany, announced their intent to join. How should Japan and the United States, neither of which plans to join for now, deal with this new bank? We asked Fred Bergsten, director emeritus at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, a major U.S. think tank. Q: What are your thoughts on the AIIB?
