Effects of polymer precursor conjugation length on the optoelectronic properties of fluorinated benzothiadiazole-based D-A systems
Effects of polymer precursor conjugation length on the optoelectronic properties of fluorinated benzothiadiazole-based D-A systems Due to its high electronegativity and small atomic radius without undesirable steric hindrance, the incorporation of fluorine atoms onto the conjugated backbone has been proven to be a very effective way in tuning the energy levels of organic semiconductors.
Active Diluent‐Anion Synergy Strategy Regulating Nonflammable Electrolytes for High‐Efficiency Li Metal Batteries
Introduction Conventional Li-ion batteries (LIBs) with graphite anodes have been approaching their limit of energy density (around 300 Wh kg−1) in recent years, which are hard to meet the demands for batteries with higher energy density.1 Using high-capacity Li metal anodes (3860 mAh g−1) and high-voltage cathodes instead of graphite anodes (372 mAh g−1) to assemble Li metal batteries (LMBs) is a promising method to improve energy density (≈500 Wh kg−1).2 However, the development of LMBs is...

From Semi- to Full-Two-Dimensional Conjugated Side-Chain Design: A Way toward Comprehensive Solar Energy Absorption
Two polymers with fully two-dimensional (2D) conjugated side chains, 2D-PTB-Th and 2D-PTB-TTh, were synthesized and characterized through simultaneously integrating the 2D-TT and the 2D-BDT monomers onto the polymer backbone. Resulting from the synergistic effect from the conjugated side chains on both monomers, the two polymers showed remarkably efficient absorption of the sunlight and improved ?–? intermolecular interactions for efficient charge carrier transport.
Synergistic effects of chlorination and a fully two-dimensional side-chain design on molecular energy level modulation toward non-fullerene photovoltaics - Journal of Materials Chemistry A (RSC Publishing)
Two chlorinated medium-band-gap polymer donors with fully two-dimensional (2D) conjugated thiophene side chains, named 2D-PBTCl and 2D-PBTCl2, have been designed and successfully synthesized for application in non-fullerene solar cells to elevate the open-circuit voltage and optimize the power conversion efficiency (PCE). Chlorine atoms were directly attached to the backbones of the polymers, which induced non-ignorable steric hindrance because of the relatively large size of chlorine.
