I love to bake sugar cookies. Sure, I like to eat them too, but I really just love to take that cool, refrigerated dough and roll it out before cutting it into trays and trays of fun symmetrical shapes. Stars, rubber duckies, Christmas trees, volleyballs, basketballs, doghouses, Easter eggs—I love them all. When I make cookies, the shapes each have a little piece of me in them. I make rubber duckies because they’re cute and I love the color of the cookie cutter (a cheerful aquamarine plastic).
