The Microsoft Hololens technology provides a myriad of possibilities, from its speech recognition to the gaze and gesture controls, all in an untethered environment. But there is one glaring omission, the lack of a GPS sensor onboard the device. This article provides a way to transmit a Bluetooth GPS signal from your smartphone (in this article, an Android OS) to the Hololens. This technique leverages Bluetooth LE advertiser/watcher technologies available on the Android and UWP platforms.
