When humans where hunters, we considered ourselves equal to the trees, plants and animals around us. Our networks were small and we had little need for complex forms of communication. We then became farmers and with this came the need to work with others and build communities and networks for trade and for the development and progression of our communities. At this point to meet our own needs we set ourselves above our primate friends.
