Why did you become a journalist?

Writing provided the perfect outlet for my natural creativity.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I was the Sports Editor for the Kennedy High School Torch in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Never stop writing and keep a notepad next to the bed for that moment when ideas hit you prior to nodding off.

What's your favorite drink?

Moscow mule

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

On a kayak or behind a camera.
