I was a staff writer intern (yes internships are jobs) in a digital tabloid. It was awful. I had to write about Kim Kardashian all day long.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes, when I was a kid, my aunt gifted me her old typewriter. It was funny for a few days, and I never touched it again.
How is social media changing news?
Instead of making an effort to go to a precise website, we let the news come to us wherever they come from.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Rebecca Bloomwood, I read all the shopaholic books.
What does it mean to be a journalist?

Because no one is covering the topics that I'm interested in, so I better do it myself.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
For my middle school newspaper, I was in charge of the gossip column about couples whether they were between teachers or pupils.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
An investigation piece on why is the French fashion industry so reluctant to dress plus-size women.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That writing about diversity is a trendy topic or that fashion writers are dumb people who just love shopping. We cover an INDUSTRY.
