Why did you become a journalist?
I wanted a career that involved meeting interesting people, traveling to inspiring places, and learning something new every day.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be interested in everything! Context is key, so learn as much as you can about the world—not just the topics you write about.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
One that simply read "You should write about this" and provided no information about the topic whatsoever.
What's your favorite drink?
A dry gin martini with a twist.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Watching movies on a plane, or at a bar with a cocktail.
