Penncrest beat Haverford in 3-1 Central League victory
Haverford’s Emma Koch (right) went after the ball as Penncrest’sMadeline Young ran to stop her. The play was intense between players on both sides. Playing as a team and having home field advantage helped the Penncrest Lions soccer team secure a 3-1 Central League win over the visiting Haverford Fords on Thursday, Oct. 15. Penncrest’s Juliette Sisley (19) was doing her job blocking. “I’d say everyone put in effort and we worked hard,” said Penncrest junior goalkeeper Ainsley Richardson.
Mission to serve goes beyond the spiritual; local church celebrates 25 years of popular food pantry
Volunteers did not let the coronavirus pandemic or bad weather stop them from helping at the food pantry. Every week for the past 25 years this type of activity has happened. For one quarter of a century, the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry at Prospect Hill Baptist Church, 703 Lincoln Ave., Prospect Park, has served the local community and those in greater need since the day it was co-founded by Deacons Linda and Lana Lindenmuth in 2001.
The Real ROI of Overseas BAS Graphics Outsourcing
A lower quote does not always mean a lower project cost. For years, companies have sent BAS graphics, floor plans, and related production work overseas to reduce costs. The initial savings can look attractive. But how often does anyone go back and calculate what the completed project actually cost? QA Graphics sees the other side of that calculation. A significant portion of its work involves correcting or rebuilding graphics originally produced overseas.
The Cougars talked things over as a team between matches. It was a close one as the Springfield Cougars volleyball team hosted the Strath Haven Panthers in a Central League game on Wednesday, Oct. 7. While each match was not over until it was over, Springfield shut out Strath Haven, 3-0. “It was just our energy,” said Springfield’s Grace Udovich. “Our energy and our team spirit really brought us together.

For nearly 40 years Havertown singers spread good music
The Havertown Choristers performed one of its semiannual concerts at Haverford High School. For nearly four decades, a musical group known as the Havertown Choristers has entertained locally with spring and fall concerts, and for other occasions, too. The Tapestry Historic Dance Ensemble was the guest performing group at the Havertown Choristers’ concert held this past spring. Among its members is Shelley Ashfield-Neparidze (third from right) who is also a member of the Choristers.
Why BAS Graphics Need a Lifecycle Standard—Not Just a Project Standard
Why the visual layer needs a lifecycle standard, not just a project standard Building automation graphics are usually built near the end of a project. By that point, schedules are tight, budgets have been picked over, and everyone is focused on getting the system accepted. That creates a predictable problem. The graphics may be good enough to complete the project, but nobody has made a plan for the next 10 or 20 years. The BAS will change. Equipment will be replaced. Buildings will be renovated.
Why System Integrators Should Present Enhanced BAS Graphics Before Project Closeout
System integrators have historically been QA Graphics’ primary customers, and that will likely continue to be the case. They have the relationship with the building owner. They understand the control system. They know the project scope, the equipment, the sequences, and how the owner plans to operate the facility.
Why Graphics Verification Should Be the Final Step Before Every BAS Project Goes Live
Building automation graphics have evolved dramatically over the past decade. Today’s graphics are no longer simple mechanical diagrams with a few animated icons. They have become the primary interface operators use to understand, diagnose, and control increasingly complex facilities. Whether the project uses Niagara, Metasys, EcoStruxure, Desigo, Tracer, or another platform, operators depend on BAS graphics to present accurate information in real time.
Area 250 celebrations scorched by heat wave; activities canceled, postponed
The July 4 parade in Lansdowne went off at 9 a.m. as scheduled and managed to avoid the hottest part of the day. No amount of party planning can account for the most extreme that mother nature can offer, as many in the Delaware Valley found out this July 4. The 250th anniversary of American independence coincided with the third consecutive day of 100-plus degree temperatures in the area, causing many event organizers to cancel or postpone daytime events.
A Growing Integrator’s Path to Scaling BAS Floor Plans and Graphics
QA Graphics recently spoke with a long-time client who has partnered with them for eight years. The discussion centered on the client’s choice to outsource additional building automation floor plan and system graphics tasks as their business expanded. Interestingly, this was not a small contractor seeking assistance due to a lack of resources. They were already a substantially sized controls system integrator when they initially approached QA Graphics.
Moving Beyond the Status Quo: Why Building Owners are Prioritizing BAS Interface Design
User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) are frequently undervalued within the building automation system (BAS) sector. However, QA Graphics is observing a notable shift in the market. An increasing number of building owners and end users are reaching out to them following the completion of BAS projects because the provided interface fails to align with how their personnel actually manage the facility.

AHR Expo Reflections: Elevating the BAS Visual Layer for Real World Operators
Walking the floor at AHR Expo this year, one thing became clear to me. Everyone is talking about improving user experience in building automation, but a lot of the industry is still designing for itself instead of the people actually operating the buildings every day. Coming from a process automation background, I naturally ask different questions. That space figured out continuity, standards, and intelligent graphics years ago.
Strategies for System Integrators in 2026: The Importance of Standards, Outsourcing, and ROI
As system integrators prepare for 2026 and the future, many are recognizing that the obstacles they face today are not temporary. Limited technical resources, rising project complexity, and competitive pressure are compelling owners and leadership teams to rethink how work is accomplished. Based on client feedback received by QA Graphics, several realities remain consistent across the industry: Controls technicians and engineers are overburdened.
A Dedicated Focus: How QA Graphics Supports the BAS Industry with Specialized Expertise
In the building automation world, visuals create the bridge between technical systems and the people who use them. Whether it’s a facility manager navigating a controls interface, a technician commissioning equipment, or an owner reviewing a floor plan, graphic clarity directly impacts project efficiency and user experience. QA Graphics recognized that early on.
Building Automation Graphics: How Symbol Standards Improve Quality and Reduce Rework
Engineered Systems NEWSHVAC Engineering SectorsCase in PointCommercial HVAC In building automation, the user interface often determines how quickly an operator can understand system performance or respond to an alarm. While controllers, networks, and protocols get most of the attention, the value of clear and consistent graphics is frequently overlooked.
Enhancing BAS Projects with QA Graphics' Symbol Libraries
For nearly two decades, QA Graphics has been perfecting tools designed to make building automation projects quicker, easier, and more professional. One of the most significant resources they provide is their collection of symbol libraries—purpose-built assets trusted by system integrators, end users, and control manufacturers. These libraries are about more than just graphics. They are designed to help professionals work smarter, lower costs, and deliver results that stand apart.
Enhancing Profitability: The Case for Outsourcing BAS Design to QA Graphics
A significant challenge for today’s BAS system integrators is securing sufficient skilled technicians for control system installations. When labor resources are tight, time dedicated by technicians to creating BAS graphics or floor plans detracts from essential fieldwork like installations, system troubleshooting, or client support.

Easing the Burden on BAS Technicians Through Specialized Graphics Outsourcing
A consistent message has emerged from building automation system (BAS) integrators nationwide throughout 2024 and 2025: there is a significant strain on skilled field technicians. As the industry continues to face labor shortages, companies are recognizing the need to reassess internal processes to keep their technicians centered on core duties like system installation and service.
Achieving Scalability in Building Automation through Standardized Graphics
The BAS landscape is undergoing a rapid transformation. With smart buildings advancing and portfolios growing more interconnected, there is increasing pressure on system integrators to provide faster, more uniform results across different regions, platforms, and teams. Despite this, one persistent challenge can impede even the most sophisticated BAS implementations: the absence of visual standardization.

Best Practices for Avoiding Change Orders in BAS Graphics Projects
Change orders during Building Automation System (BAS) graphics projects often prove frustrating and costly. Frequently, these arise from incomplete project specifications at the beginning or shifts in client requirements mid-stream. Fortunately, many such issues can be prevented. Companies specializing in BAS User Interface (UI) design, like QA Graphics with nearly two decades of experience, understand this challenge well. Their work is often supported by extensive time-tracking data.

Why AI Can’t Fully Automate BAS Graphics and 3D Floor Plans
As AI continues to transform industries, you might wonder why QA Graphics hasn’t fully automated the creation of BAS graphics and 3D floor plans. While AI is a powerful tool, it still falls short when handling the complexity and inconsistency of the assets you provide. AI works well in industries with standardized data, but in BAS graphics and floor plan design, the irregularity of inputs makes full automation impractical. Here’s why AI isn’t yet a viable solution for your needs.
