On Sunday night, Victory Lap packed out East London’s Genesis Cinema for the premiere of Training Mode Volume.1 – an hour-long film that’s packed with raw freestyles filmed on the streets and in crammed studios across London. Training Mode Volume.1 is clearly inspired by the legendary Risky Roadz grime DVDs. It’s also proof that, right now, the scene is stylistically diverse and full of characters. The doc sees grime’s OG Novelist spit sturdy bars, while YT gargles his hooks with AutoTune.
