2022 - Data Journalism

Dataphyte, an initiative of the Interactive Initiative for Social Impact, has shortlisted 10 journalists as pioneer fellows in its inaugural Dataphyte Media Fellowship program. The fellowship program selected the fellows from over 300 journalists who applied through a rigorous selection. The fellowship, which ran for three months from May to July 2022, was to resource a critical mass of data and development journalists in Nigeria and across Africa who will use data, storytelling, and technology to produce change narratives on crucial development issues. Some of these include Climate Change and Natural Resource Governance, Data and Digital Privacy Advocacy, Security, Health, Energy, Agriculture & Elections

2022 - InvestigativeJournalism

The 3-month program’s objective is to improve media capacity to advance news coverage of under-reported issues in local communities across Nigeria using technology, focusing on potential solutions with lasting impact on effective public service delivery, grassroots development, and improving the quality of life. The premier fellowship is a conscientious, interactive learning and development experience empowering participants with new knowledge on Data Analytics for journalism, Geospatial analysis and remote sensing, Community project tracking and more.  The fellowship also offers an opportunity for peer-to-peer learning, access to a larger network of professionals, and facilitated mentoring.
