Differences in overall survival for invasive epithelial ovarian cancer by race and ethnicity: results from the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium
Abstract Prior studies have examined survival in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC); however, few consider race and ethnicity, particularly disaggregating Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander women. We analysed data from 18 Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium studies, including women with EOC from Asian (n = 697), non-Hispanic Black (n = 267), Hispanic (n = 492), Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (n = 98) and non-Hispanic White (n = 12,998) racial and ethnic groups.

Pre-diagnosis Tea and Coffee Consumption and Survival After a Diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer: Results From the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium
BACKGROUND: Tea and coffee are the most frequently consumed beverages in the world. Green tea in particular contains compounds with potential anti-cancer effects, but its association with survival after ovarian cancer is uncertain. METHODS: We investigated the associations between tea and coffee consumption before diagnosis and survival using data from 10 studies in the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium.

The new imperative for green commodities
Producers of steel, aluminum, cement, kerosene, polypropylene, and other bulk commodities need to decarbonize to meet net-zero goals. Until recently, however, it wasn’t clear that decarbonization investments would see a competitive return on capital—and the name of the game in commodities has always been cost competitiveness. But the rules are changing. The economics of going green have radically improved over the past 24 months, especially in Europe.
Winter is coming: What’s next in COVID-19 testing
The upcoming flu season in the Northern Hemisphere is expected to increase demand for COVID-19 testing. Decision makers may ask: Will there be enough flexible testing capacity to respond to global demand and avoid second lockdowns? Sufficient testing capacity is widely recognized as critical to managing COVID-19 and minimizing further outbreaks, as noted by the World Health Organization. Testing enables the quick identification, management, and isolation of COVID-19 patients.
Winter is coming: What’s next in COVID-19 testing
Sufficient testing capacity is widely recognized as critical to managing COVID-19 and minimizing further outbreaks, as noted by the World Health Organization. Testing enables the quick identification, management, and isolation of COVID-19 patients. As a result, many countries have prioritized COVID-19 testing in the last six months and have increased it by orders of magnitude. Yet stakeholders around the globe are now preparing for an even larger challenge.
Genital Powder Use and Ovarian Cancer
To the Editor Dr O’Brien and colleagues1 combined data on powder use in the genital area and ovarian cancer from 4 cohort studies and reported an overall hazard ratio (HR) of 1.08 (95% CI, 0.99-1.17). Except for data from the Nurses’ Health Study II and additional follow-up, little new information was presented.
