An update. It all works now.The factory (hard) reset did the trick. Once I did that I reinstalled all the software on the CD which came with the iPAQ and it all works just fine.As my iPAQ came with TomTom, I copied the maps to my local C: HDD first before the reset just to be on the safe side. As it happens, the factory reset didn't erase the TomTom data at all which was a bit of a surprise.So, go ahead and do the factory reset. But backup your data first. --gwdee
