1 INTRODUCTION Endotracheal tube (ETT) design centers on maintaining a patent airway to support life in patients who are unable to sustain an airway for ventilation. Historically, ETT design decisions have primarily been informed by adult airway anatomy and ventilation needs, with use supported by data collected from adult patients.1, 2 This, however, does not capture the unique and complex needs of neonatal and pediatric patients with small airways.
ABSTRACT ABSTRACT Thermal cameras are being used increasingly in the bird-ringing community and preliminary reports suggest they have a wide range of relevant applications. However, there has been little quantitative assessment of these methods. In this study we tested the use of a thermal imager to assess the occupancy of enclosed nests, using nest-box populations of small passerines.
