What was your first job as a journalist?
I started as a blogger for The Mommy Chronicles.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes, when I was in elementary school. My mom had a typewriter for years.
How is social media changing news?
Social media is making the news more accessible to those that may have never turned on a new broadcast.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use a pen and paper, word, my laptop, photoshop (do my own graphics and photo editing, a Nikion and Cannon camera.
What's your favorite social network?
Facebook would have to be my favorite with Twitter coming in a close second.
Who do you wish followed you?
I wish that Shap magazine and Whole Foods followed me I am a fan of both.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, but I did work for the Yearbook.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I think that my reflective piece on depression and how I have dealt with it is the article I am most proud of because it is so personal.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Never give up and continue to write about what you love if you put passion into others will take notice.
