Initial Estimates of Soil Mercury Emissions Induced by Soil Heating During Global Wildfires
1 Introduction Mercury (Hg) is a persistent global pollutant found widely in the Earth's surface environment (Driscoll et al., 2013; Turetsky et al., 2006). Human activities, including fossil fuel combustion, cement production, and nonferrous metal smelting, release significant amounts of Hg into the atmosphere (Streets et al., 2011; Webster, 2015).
China's Hajj‐Related Infrastructure Diplomacy with Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 calls for promoting modernization and developing the industry centered around the hajj, the annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca. China, with its robust capabilities in transportation and high-tech infrastructure, sees assisting in these processes as a way to advance its Belt and Road Initiative and strengthen its relationship with Riyadh.
Enabling the synthesis of O3-type sodium anion-redox cathodes via atmosphere modulation - Nature Communications
Abstract The pursuit of advanced battery chemistries with enhanced energy density necessitates the exploration of new materials, a process intricately tied to synthesis science. Despite the promise of O3-type sodium oxygen anionic redox cathodes as high-capacity materials, their development has been severely hindered by a lack of understanding regarding synthetic mechanisms.

Enrichment and sensing tumor cells by embedded immunomodulatory DNA hydrogel to inhibit postoperative tumor recurrence - Nature Communications
Abstract Postoperative tumor recurrence and metastases often lead to cancer treatment failure. Here, we develop a local embedded photodynamic immunomodulatory DNA hydrogel for early warning and inhibition of postoperative tumor recurrence. The DNA hydrogel contains PDL1 aptamers that capture and enrich in situ relapsed tumor cells, increasing local ATP concentration to provide a timely warning signal.
