Sabarmati Riverfront on Sunday evening turned out to be a nightmare for several people after a malfunction in the 40-feet Drop Tower. As many as 28 persons were left suspended midair after the amusement ride developed a mechanical failure. The glitch left the riders and their family members in a state of panic, as many frantically called for rescue services. All the trapped – 8 women, 7 men and 14 children – were rescued within 40 minutes after the ride malfunctioned.
