Will Corey Kluber become the Rangers top ace?
On December 15th, 2019, the Texas Rangers made a bold move by trading for two-time Cy Young award winner Corey Kluber. I emphasize “bold” for many reasons but allow me to highlight three of those reasons. First of all, to go along with Delino DeShields, the organization gave up arguably its best pitching prospect – certainly their most electric prospect, in Emmanuel Clase.
A few final things to know about the new Globe Life Field
We are just about one month away from Opening Day at the new Globe Life Field. The MLB’s next best thing is right down highway 45 from the MLB’s latest worst thing. Yeah, I went there – sorry, not sorry, Astros fans. It’s certainly a very exciting time to be a Rangers fan.

Do the Mavs have the deepest guard rotation in franchise history?
The Dallas Mavericks are two months away from entering their 40th season as an NBA franchise. The schedule was released on Monday and the Mavs open the regular season at home against the Washington Wizards on October 23rd. This is the day Mavs fans will realize how deep the team is at the guard position – not only on paper but on the floor as well. Head Coach Rick Carlisle, as we all know, loves the three-guard lineup.
Rangers Trade or Keep: Mike Minor
The MLB trade deadline is rapidly approaching the Texas Rangers. There are many decisions that can be made on whether to buy or sell. Buying is a possibility but seems not likely because that would go against the long-term plan of rebuilding and continuing to strengthen the farm system. When it comes selling, the Rangers have a multitude of value between many guys consisting of Hunter Pence, Shawn Kelley, Lance Lynn, and even Danny Santana or Shin-Soo Choo.
Dallas Sports Fanatic
The Texas Rangers caught fire this week as they finished 4-2 in three-game series against the Seattle Mariners and the Los Angeles Angels. After sweeping the Mariners at the beginning of the week, the club lost a rather disappointing series to the Angels on Sunday. The Rangers have now played 50 games and sit evenly at 25-25. That puts them at third in the division behind the Astros and the Athletics.
Did the Rangers make the right move with demoting Delino DeShields to Triple-A?
The beginning of this week called for a tough decision to be made by GM Jon Daniels and the Ranger’s organization. The demotion of Delino DeShields was that decision and it has shocked many Ranger fans, to say the least. Delino DeShields has been optioned to Triple A Nashville. Shocking. Puts Gallo in CF pretty regularly — Evan Grant (@Evan_P_Grant) May 8, 2019 The speedster was optioned to AAA Nashville to make room for what will be Ronald Guzman.
What happened with the Rangers last week; needed restful week ahead
This past week is one we’d like to forget as Rangers fans. The team went 2-5 on their west coast trip against the Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners and they now sit with a record of 14-13 at third in the AL West. After getting swept by the A’s, the Rangers followed it up with splitting a series with the Mariners. The week started off with the season’s longest losing streak of five games followed by two huge wins to cap off the week.
Are the Rangers handling the farm decisions correctly?
The Texas Rangers have been dealing with many injuries early on and the Major League call-ups haven’t been exactly what fans have expected. There are plenty of big names in the Rangers farm system that we haven’t seen or even heard in Arlington yet this season. Guys like Matt Davidson, Willie Calhoun, Ariel Jurado and Andy Ibanez are all playing well for AAA Nashville Sounds, but haven’t received any calls from the majors.
What is this Rangers bullpen behind Jose Leclerc?
Chris Woodward finally released the Rangers roster on Opening Day, and while it is out of the ordinary, we all expected to see the eight-pitcher bullpen. We all know what Jose Leclerc is made of. When he took over the closer role from Keone Kela last season, Leclerc did not allow a run. In those final two months, the Rangers new solidified closer pitched 18 innings, going 12-for-12 in save opportunities while striking out 29 total batters.
Luka struggles shooting as Mavs lose in Sacramento
The Dallas Mavericks (28-44) fall again 116-100 to the Sacramento Kings (25-36). Moving forward, the Mavs will be without Tim Hardaway Jr. for the remainder of the season due to a stress reaction in his leg. The Mavs were on their second game of a three-game West coast road trip. This was the first meeting between the two teams after the trade that sent Harrison Barnes over to the Kings for Justin Jackson and (the waived) Zach Randolph.
What we learned as the Mavs overcome 15-point deficit, beat Blazers 102-101
The Mavs (26-29) finish their wild, Sunday afternoon matchup strong outscoring the Blazers (33-22) 24-9 in the fourth quarter. “It was our best quarter of the season,” Rick Carlisle mentioned in his postgame interview. Luka added 13 points of his 28 total in the fourth quarter. Thanks to Luka down the stretch, the Mavs were able to overcome their biggest comeback win of the year today. At this point, “clutch” is an understatement for the All-Star snub.
The Legends win a last-minute thriller led by assignee, Gary Trent Jr.
FRISCO, TX. (Feb. 1, 2019) – Gary Trent Jr. scored a career-high 39 points on 14 of 25 from the field and six of 11 from three, including the near, buzzer-beater to seal the win. Talk about a professional “bucket-getter”. He finished the night adding seven rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes played.
