I grew up on Fort Bragg, but I was born in small-town Albemarle. While my military community was very diverse, my hometown was not. My hometown was a post-Brown v. Board of Education America in which the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that separate but equal was not Constitutional.

Rooting for Fayetteville State University means rooting for "the good fight." Rooting for this HBCU does not mean supporting even the appearance of impropriety or worse, corruption. The stakeholders of FSU deserve to have the most qualified leaders. We will not stand for nepotism, favoritism or cronyism when the stakes are so high.
