Daron Scott

I am a New Jersey-based full-time freelance writer and community manager coach offering blog writing, press release writing, community engagement, and leadership training today. I have over 13 years in retail and food service management with results-oriented leadership with Starbucks, AMC, Lumber Liquidators, and Chili’s. My focus was exceeding sales targets, developing talent, and speaking in a reassuring and conversational tone. I changed careers and looked into esports, starting out on a new challenge.

Writing for free, to gain experience with The Game Haus and The Esports News Network, from 2019 to 2020, things changed in September 2020 when I was contacted by Future (GamesRadar) to do some refreshes on their Overwatch content. I've since written for Future covering Destiny 2 and a few private clients.

I launched my blog, Scottfree (https://scottree.co) in the summer of 2021, to reach a wider audience and break down gaming and pop culture media. I aim to demystify and simplify many of the recent MCU shows/movies and other mainstream hits that have deeper origins. I am also a moderator for a Destiny 2 Facebook group with over 80,000 members, which grew from 55,000.

When I'm not studying and writing, I am also the leader of a Destiny 2 clan focused on teaching new players. I coordinate with other clan leaders to make sure everyone is educated with up-to-date information, ways to optimize their limited time, and taking a personal stake in the lives of his members. Looking forward to connecting with any publication that prefers long-form, opinion-based, or evergreen content.
