What was your first job as a journalist?
I wrote comic book reviews for The Weekly Pull (dot) net.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I grew up with a typewriter before we got a computer. I still prefer mechanical keyboards for that reason.
How is social media changing news?
Social media has created more expansion of news but also gives a home to varying lengths of pieces. Also, fake news is the biggest challenge.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Forsythe Pendleton "Jughead" Jones III from Riverdale, don't judge me, it's a guilty pleasure.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To me being a journalist means doing more than the average to make conversational news and opinion pieces.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
I'm the worst and can't think of one right now but when I can I'll update this!
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Anything is fine so don't be afraid to send me a social DM, email me, or leave a message elsewhere.

The entire Google Suite, Snapseed, and Photoshop

Why did you become a journalist?
I wanted to break into esports and make the difficult games I enjoy more digestible.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, I didn't, my passion for writing was only expressed on personal blogs and forums for games I was in love with.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I'm working on some hot sauce reviews and I'm more proud of those than anything I've written before.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Just do the work and get exposure where you can. The more you write and the more you get edited/feedback, the better.
When's the best time to pitch you?
11am-2pm would be the best timeframe since I know that works best for others. I'm a night owl personally but check email then.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
I don't have a favorite so far so it would be difficult to call any of them the best.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I was pitched writing a 70-page guide for a profitable site, for free.
What's your favorite drink?
My favorite drinks usually have a mix of fruit flavors and/or aromatics. For now, it's rooibos tea with honey.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
You can find me with friends, family, playing sports, torturing myself with hot sauce, and cooking

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That those doing recaps don't understand the game at a high enough level to do analysis work.
