What was your first job as a journalist?

Covering the launch of Uniqlo's first store in India.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

My best friend gifted me a typewriter when I was 17 to help me write poetry.

How is social media changing news?

While social media enables the delivery of news through different channels and possibly to new audiences, it also relays misinformation.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Rory Gilmore or Carrie Bradshaw.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

I'm actually unsure, but I will keep an eye out for them.

Why did you become a journalist?

I have always loved stories I can put real names to and narratives I can experience: journalism fulfils (and fuels) these passions.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Unfortunately we didn't have a high school newspaper, I did once write an article for the Times NIE in school though.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

The story on the revival of the Kodiyala weave.

What's your favorite drink?

Rosé

Verve, The Swaddle, The Goya Journal, WWD, Business of Fashion, The Guardian, New York Times

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That the stories will almost always be frivolous or trend-driven.
