Daryl James’s Biography

As a writer at the nonprofit Institute for Justice writer, Daryl James gives voice to the targets of government abuse. He focuses on overregulation, occupational licensing, property rights, free speech and police accountability. Prior to IJ, James directed communications strategy at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management. He also spent 10 years as a newspaper journalist in Arizona. James grew up in Arizona and later lived in Florida, Idaho, Utah, Maryland and Virginia. He has degrees from Brigham Young University and Arizona State University.
