Michael Dattoli, MD, and Richard Sorace, MD, Ph.D. formed Dattoli Cancer Center in 2001 after working together in Tampa for nearly a decade. It was their desire to build a truly cutting-edge cancer center dedicated to the non-surgical treatment of prostate cancer. They put their minds and emotions on the line by leaving Tampa to make their dream a reality. This Center would house all of the most advanced equipment for diagnosing and treating prostate cancer non-surgically, as well as serve as a research and technological design incubator. The depth of knowledge and unrivaled expertise of these two radiation oncologists at work in this forward-thinking atmosphere fuelled the Center's rapid acceptance and widespread renown. The influx of patients to the Dattoli Cancer Center from all over the world today is a monument to Drs. Dattoli and Sorace's hard work and foresight since the Center's inception.
