It's in our environment, dirtying it, killing creatures from the hedgehog in your garden to poor turtles in the great Pacific garbage gyre. It's also clearly a social issue, in that it seems to stem from a swollen sense of entitlement and a shrunken sense of responsibility. This is something I hear every day, working for a newspaper; people demanding more and accepting less, urging me to get them what they deserve. But is it also a mental health issue? I'd say so.
