Memo: ‘Healthy young children who faced tremendously low risk of death were coerced, at the behest of the Biden administration’
How Vance can move the needle in Pa.
Johnsonburg is a small borough on the Clarion River in Elk County. Home to a paper mill, it has a unique scent in its air. “You can smell it before you can see it,” people endearingly say. My family, like many others, made it their home around the turn of the 20th century. Like so many locales in north central Pennsylvania, it was a boom town — a place where productive industry was growing wealth, population, and optimism.

Fast Car: A Lyrical Blueprint For GOP Success in 2024
One of my fondest childhood memories is of listening to Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” while riding with my mother. My father was killed by a drunk driver before I was born, so growing up, it was just she and I. Even at seven or eight, I instinctively understood what the song was about. Its emphasis on hope, striving, and ambition – a faith in what the future can hold – made sense to me.

GALLUCH: Safe Streets Require Leadership Changes – DV Journal
Imagine for a moment that you are done shopping and walking back to your car. You get there, hands full of shopping bags. You fumble for your keys to unlock your car. As you unlock it and get in, two men jump in with you. One gets in the front seat and the other in the back. The man in the backseat puts a gun to your head. Now stop imagining.
Dave Galluch: Crime is a threat to all of us
Safety is the most essential public good. Families and businesses cannot thrive without it. Throughout the past few years, many localities across PA-05 have seen public safety steadily erode. In Philadelphia last year, we saw a record number of homicides and shootings — after setting records the previous year, and the year before that. We saw the same in Upper Darby, where murders have tripled since 2019. Other forms of violent crime, most notably carjackings, have soared.
GALLUCH: Leadership Void Leads to Economic Time Bomb – DV Journal
When I told my mom in my senior year at the US Naval Academy that I’d be defusing bombs for a living, she wasn’t pleased. In the following seven years I spent as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) commander, I learned a lot. Perhaps the most useful was that in the face of crises, the first rule in making things better is oftentimes to prevent them from getting worse. Despite the widespread recognition of a country in crisis, we can’t seem to make things better. Why?
Philadelphia’s shipyards once boomed. Why do they struggle for funding now?
I’ve always loved the movie Field of Dreams. In one scene, Kevin Costner’s character, after taking significant risks and doing everything he was asked to do, poses a question: “What’s in it for me?” Given the situation, that’s not a selfish question. That’s a legitimate attempt to obtain clarity.
