Dave Mosher’s Biography

I help lead U.S. public and media relations for AST SpaceMobile. Our planned fleet of ~200 satellites is designed to provide affordable, high-speed internet directly to smartphones anywhere on Earth — no bulky and expensive dishes or other hardware required. We hope to close the digital divide for billions of unserved and underserved people, create new economic opportunities, reduce poverty, assist emergency responders, save lives, and more while operating a successful business.

Prior to joining the space and telecommunications industries, I spent 15 years as a multimedia journalist who reported news and feature stories about science and technology, with human and robotic spaceflight as the primary focus of my career. I worked for Insider Inc. (aka Business Insider and Insider), where I led space coverage for an audience of hundreds of millions as a senior correspondent. I also served as a deputy editor of science coverage to help the company launch Tech Insider, a new media outlet, in 2015. Before joining Insider I directed Popular Science's website, was a Wired contributor, and worked for or with Scientific American, Popular Mechanics, Discover, Space.com, National Geographic News, Discovery.com, Nature, Science, and other media outlets.

Media engagements are part of my job. Past credits and bookings on television, video, radio, podcasts, etc. include The Today Show (NBC), CNBC, CBS This Morning, CNN, BBC World News, NewsHour (PBS), Science Channel, Discovery Channel, Fox & Friends (Fox News), Pix11, AP, Reuters, Al Jazeera America, Cheddar, ABC Radio, BBC Radio, Marketplace Radio, and more.
