Born and raised in the vibrant car culture of Los Angeles, California, David Schmidt’s journey into the world of automobiles started at a young age. David’s love for cars took off in high school while tinkering in his friend’s garage, from smoothing out dents in his parents’ Altima to honing the art of car repair.
He’s since developed a long-running love for Japanese cars and a soft spot for German engineering, particularly BMW. Currently navigating the world with two trusty Hondas, David revels in their reliability, allowing him to spend less time tinkering in the garage and more time cruising with his family. As a Content Director, David oversees the content strategy for CarBuzz, Top Speed, and HotCars. His writing has been featured in Top Speed and HotCars.
His extensive car ownership history includes a Toyota Hilux and a beloved BMW 325i, from which he learned valuable maintenance lessons.
A fixture at cars and coffee meetups across Southern California, David’s enthusiasm for cars goes beyond appreciation – it’s a way of life. Outside of cars, he’s a husband and father who enjoys watching boxing, listening to Japanese city pop, and reading manga.
