Increased risk of retinopathy of prematurity since increased O2 saturation targets: A multi‐centre study
Discussion We found a significant increase in the prevalence of ROP among neonates since the introduction of the higher O2 saturation targets (post-2015). Odds of disease increased with increasing prematurity and lower birth weights. Importantly, we found increased odds of more severe ROP in the post-2015 group. The greatest increase in risk appeared to be in the <26-week cohort (a 62% higher odds of ROP ≥ Stage 2, 95% CI = 1.37–1.92 in the post-2015 group compared to the pre-2015 group).
How South African wine can succeed in UK
Perhaps none more so than Seckford Agencies that has arguably one of the most impressive premium South African ranges built up over the last 20 plus years.
Seckford's David Cartwright on opportunities for South African wine in UK
Seckford Agencies’ David Cartwright shares his personal manifesto on how South Africa’s premium wines can succeed in the UK. I have a confession to make. I have been having an affair for 26 out of the 38 years I have been working in the wine industry. A wine affair with South Africa. Not just its wines, but its people and its communities. A wine affair that means I have been travelling to South Africa at least once a year for those 26 years – and long may it continue.
Nicotinamide riboside has minimal impact on energy metabolism in mouse models of mild obesity
Abstract Supplementation with precursors of NAD has been shown to prevent and reverse insulin resistance, mitochondrial dysfunction, and liver damage in mouse models of diet-induced obesity. We asked whether the beneficial effects of supplementation with the NAD precursor nicotinamide riboside (NR) are dependent on mouse strain.
Bio-concrete: Is This The Future Of Construction?
As the most commonly used material in construction, concrete has been relied on for decades to provide durability, strength, and flexibility. Significant advancements have been made in the world of concrete manufacturing and usage over the years. Builders can now access concrete in multiple grades, compositions, and performance levels. But In 2017, a Dutch researcher (Hendrick Jonkers) developed one of the most innovative features that concrete could have.
Wellcome Open Research Article: Metabolic tracing reveals novel adaptations to skeletal muscle cell energy production pathways in response to NAD+ depletion.
Introduction Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is an essential cofactor responsible for driving oxidoreductase reactions throughout glycolysis, the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, and the electron transport chain (ETC)1,2. Maintaining NAD+/reduced NAD+ (NADH) redox homeostasis is important for effective ATP production, which is essential for metabolically active tissues to meet functional demand3.

Poor management skills? What have these adolescents been doing with their lives?
Let’s face it, degrees are so commonplace nowadays that they’re no longer the differentiator they once were. Yes, they may convey a certain level of academic achievement but they don’t make people work ready. Likewise the MBA. Once seen as the pinnacle of business qualification for ambitious high-fliers already in work, it exemplifies a qualification that no longer carries any gravitas. Like the university degree it’s lost currency in an overcrowded marketplace.
