What was your first job as a journalist?
Well, it wasn't a paid job, but I used a typewriter to produce The Holtzman Enquirer every day for about a year when I was age 11 or so. There were sections on world, national and family news.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I prefer Google docs for word processing. I use InDesign for final copyediting.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes, I was co-editor my senior year.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
In 2018 the county leadership secretly planned a megasite, also called an industrial park, in a rural area. The public found out about it, and my first story about this (and several that followed) was carefully read by many residents.
What's your favorite drink?
Coffee, milk please, no sugar
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Reading in my red chair in the living room.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
The New Yorker. The design, array of content and writing are usually first-rate.
