Review: The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction Sept/Oct 2022
This latest issue of The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction has a total of 12 short stories and novelettes, a novella, and a quartet of poems that are as ethereal as they are intriguing. Along with a super cover by nine-time Hugo Award-winning artist, Bob Eggleton, there’s plenty to keep you busy. So, as before, I’ll kick off with the poetry submissions, and round everything off with the longer articles.

REVIEW: BALDEMAR, by MATTHEW H. HUGHES
Figure 1 – Matt Hughes reading (Photo by Steve Fahnestalk) Well, April is here. March went out like a lamb—but I can’t remember if it came in like a different beastie or not. According to the lore, if we have typical Vancouver weather (rain) we can prepare for May flowers. Looking around on my walks, I have seen numerous March flowers, so I’m prepared to believe I’ll see more in this month and May.
CLUBHOUSE: Review: "Windship: The Crazy Plague" anthology edited by Lisa Smedman

CLUBHOUSE: Review: "The Dream-Chosen," by Celu Amberstone
Parasite is a loaded word. It conjures up movies like INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS. The underlying concept of this book is infinitely more subtle than 1950s era cold war paranoia. OBIR: Occasional Biased and Ignorant Reviews reflecting this reader’s opinion. The Dream-Chosen: Tales of the Kashallans, Book 1 – by Celu Amberstone Publisher: Kashallan Press, Victoria, B.C., Canada , 2021. Premise: An intelligent parasitical race may have to look for a new host species.

Scide Splitters: Little Green Men—Attack! - edited by Robin Wayne Bailey & Bryan Thomas Schmidt - Amazing Stories
It is not often that an anthology has me thinking positively about it before I even read the first story. But that was the case with Little Green Men—Attack!, a new humorous science fiction anthology edited by Robin Wayne Bailey & Bryan Thomas Schmidt. The editors managed this by dedicating the book to Fredric Brown, Robert Sheckley and William Tenn, and then by giving them high praise in the introduction.
