My college newspaper.

It's making news more accessible, but difficult for people to interpret.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To report the truth in an accessible and engaging way.

I don't spend much time checking trending hashtags, so I can't really think of one at the moment.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Via email.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Canva, Pexels.

Twitter.

Bill Gates.

Why did you become a journalist?

To help inform people about how important good marketing strategies are.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No, I wasn't able to, unfortunately.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I think my best work is what I've done to help people learn basic marketing concepts.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Read everything you can get your hands on.

When's the best time to pitch you?

In the morning.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

To explain the intricacies of SEO in an understandable way.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

To write about a digital marketing strategy that was completely obsolete due to a Google update.

What's your favorite drink?

Tea.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Outside.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That it's not useful to people who aren't involved in running a business.
