Yes, but surely the majority of my peers have gone through a stage or two?
How is social media changing news?
Social media has become a catalyst of the *business* of news as the industries overlap above advertising. Editorially, it's more separated.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To seek to be the best possible communicator as is appropriate for one's particular position on the spectrum at any given time.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
No.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
The most important answer I have to this question (out of far too many, to be honest,) is that **markdown saved my life**.
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter. I write about all the complex reasons why it's the best for everybody. Look it up!
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I've been pitched my own obituary as a threat, which is an excellent threat, but a lousy pitch.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Either driving, reading, or sleeping.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I read from various selections of publications very cyclically, which keeps things fresh, though I regular The Outline and The New Yorker rn.
