David Kosoy’s Biography

David Kosoy is a veteran real estate investor, mortgage lender, and financial executive with more than five decades of leadership across North America and the Caribbean. He currently serves the Executive Chairman, Founder, and Director of Sterling Global Financial.

Kosoy began his career in real estate development in 1971 as Principal of Brother Developments, where he spent two decades building hands-on experience in property development, financing, and asset management. In 1991, he co-founded Sterling Companies in Palm Beach, Florida. Under his leadership, the organization expanded into a diversified real estate and financial services platform. From 2000 to 2007, he served as Co-CEO and Co-Chairman of Sterling Centrecorp Inc., a publicly listed company, helping guide its strategic growth and capital markets positioning.

In 2006, Kosoy transitioned to New Providence Capital Management Ltd., where he oversees lending strategy, portfolio management, and investor relations. The firm operates as a direct lender, providing structured mortgage financing solutions with a focus on risk-adjusted returns and conservative credit standards.

In addition to his executive roles, Kosoy is Chairman of M.Advisory Worldwide, a Sterling Group–affiliated firm providing fiduciary and legal consultancy services across multiple jurisdictions, including The Bahamas. He also serves as a Director of Ashton Woods U.S.A., one of the largest private home builders in the United States, contributing expertise in governance, capital allocation, and real estate operations.

Kosoy earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Akron, where he attended on a full football scholarship. As a guard and kicker, he played four years of collegiate football and, in 1966, set a university record by making three field goals in a single game, including a 37-yard game-winning kick against Baldwin Wallace. He later continued his athletic career at York University, where he was a provincial first-team all-star and member of the men’s hockey team during the 1969–70 season.

He holds a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and practiced law in Canada before returning to the United States to focus on real estate development, mortgage lending, and financial services.
