FIRST-PERSON: You mean it’s GOD who has been speaking to me? ' | Baptist Press
Not everyone knows about Jesus. It still surprises me to find that to be true. While I grew up going to Sunday and Wednesday church services, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, countless others did not. While I know Him personally and He walks with me daily, to some He is an unknown person, a stranger they have heard little about. A new rehab for women has opened in our area. We watched and prayed as the building was being remodeled, the employees were assembled, and women began to arrive.

My fears for an Internet generation of church leaders
Metadata: Format(s): Text Articles Share this post: Here are some of my fears for a young generation of church leaders who’ve grown up with the Internet: That they will do ministry without talking with people. That’s what happens when your communication strategy usually means texting, emailing, etc., rather than having a conversation. That they will do ministry via quick fix, simple, limited-character solutions.
FIRST-PERSON: St. Patrick an unlikely but willing instrument to be used by God
The true story of St. Patrick is not for the faint of heart. In fact, when I have the opportunity to share it with church kids, I don’t give all the details to the little ones. While much is available on the internet these days, I learned Patrick’s amazing story years ago from the pages of the encyclopedia. The high points: He was born in Britain around 400 A.D. to wealthy parents. He was kidnapped by pirates when he was a teenager and taken to Ireland, where he was sold as a slave to a shepherd.

North Greenville pep band wears Furman purple as Big Dance stand-in
ORLANDO, Fla. (BP) — The prospect of a student at a Division II school being an active participant at March Madness is a long shot – about as long as from Tigerville, S.C., to Limerick, Ireland. When Furman University planned two years ago for its pep band to be on the Emerald Isle this month, there was no way of knowing the Paladins would make the NCAA tournament this season for the first time in 43 years.

INDIANTOWN, Fla. (BP) – Windows were broken. The organ and piano were overturned. Resources were ripped up. WASHINGTON (BP) – A handful of U.S. representatives led by Chip Roy, a Southern Baptist from Austin, Texas, are protesting the use of Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPO) in the U.K., saying the citations are issued to prevent religious expression.
