From host individual traits to community structure and composition: Bartonella infection insights - Parasites & Vectors
Two distinct datasets were used to investigate our hypotheses on three scales: individual, community, and species. For the first set of analyses, we used data from several rodent communities sampled across the Brazilian Atlantic Forest, including individual-level information on life history traits and Bartonella infection. This biome was chosen due to the higher prevalence of these bacteria in rodents compared with other Brazilian biomes [36].

High-sensitivity troponin T, NT-proBNP, and cognitive outcomes in SPRINT.
Haney, D. et al. (2024) High-sensitivity troponin T, NT-proBNP, and cognitive outcomes in SPRINT. Hypertension, 81(9), pp. 1956-1965. (doi: 10.1161/HYPERTENSIONAHA.124.22876) (PMID:38957975) Full text not currently available from Enlighten. Abstract Hs-cTnT (cardiac troponin T measured with a highly sensitive assay) and NT-proBNP (N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide) may identify adults with hypertension who derive greater cognitive benefits from lower systolic blood pressure targets.
Associations of ambulatory blood pressure measurements with high-sensitivity troponin and natriuretic peptide levels in SPRINT
Nighttime blood pressure (BP) has greater prognostic importance for cardiovascular disease (CVD) than daytime BP, but less is known about nighttime and daytime BP associations with measures of subclinical CVD.

Comparisons of multiple troponin assays for detecting chronic myocardial injury in the general population: redundant or complementary?
This editorial refers to ‘High-sensitivity troponins and mortality in the general population’, by J.W. McEvoy et al., https://doi.org/10.1093/eurheartj/ehad328. High sensitivity assays for cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) and I (hs-cTnI) offer greater sensitivity and improved precision compared with older generation assays.
