Debadrita Sur is a housing and infrastructure reporter for The Central Current and a Report For America corps member. She covers the Interstate 81 Viaduct Project and the East Adams public housing redevelopment project.
Before joining Central Current, she covered a variety of stories, ranging from geopolitical conflicts to the Trump administration, housing and homelessness, labor, infrastructure and immigration with bylines in The Buffalo News, National Catholic Reporter, Daily Express US, Mirror US and Irish Star US ( publications under Reach PLC), The New York Times, as well as cinema and pop culture in Far Out Magazine UK and Best of Netflix. She also worked as a freelance production assistant at a documentary production company with a series of videos about gig workers around the world for Context Newsroom and Rest of World.
She graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York in May 2023, where she honed my multimedia storytelling and reporting skills and learned how to use investigative techniques and data to enhance her work.
