Debora Aru’s Biography

I've been working as a journalist since 2016, and my recent specialisation is in data journalism, data analysis and data visualisation.

I try to be always up to date with the newest storytelling platforms and I like to experiment them finding the best way to involve the audience. I recently realised an investigation Brexit-related using interactive charts, podcasts, video interviews and pictures, building a digital multimedia platform where readers can explore the data and the story.

I can easily turn data into interactive charts using Tableau, Infogram, Google Charts, Datawrapper and Highcharts, and I have basic knowledge of RStudio.

On the mapping side, I had the opportunity to use CartoDB and Mapbox.

I have also developed a high level of statistical knowledge using Excel and database management systems such as MySql. I can manage big datasets and I am able to do scraping/mining data with Web Scraper, Import.io and other web app based on selectors.
