Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

Working as a daily news hound on a British media news website.

How is social media changing news?

It is increasing transparency and speed of delivery. But it is also increasing inaccuracy and a tendency for quantity over quality.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Final Cut, WordPress, and Canon Cameras.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter

Who do you wish followed you?

Everyone.

Why did you become a journalist?

Because I'm nosey and something of a voyeur. I love the opportunity journalism gives me to walk into and record other people's lives.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes, I worked for Epigram - the Bristol University newspaper. I was a music journalist, interviewing bands and reviewing gigs.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Impossible to say. I'm a little bit proud of every story, otherwise what's the point?

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

I keep hearing about how journalism is dying off because of the internet. I've never been busier. Onwards comrades.
