Dual Solar-Driven Hydrogen Evolution and Alcohol Oxidation with CdS Quantum Dot-Sensitized Photocatalysis Prepared by SILAR Methodology
Dual Solar-Driven Hydrogen Evolution and Alcohol Oxidation with CdS Quantum Dot-Sensitized Photocatalysis Prepared by SILAR Methodology Quantum dots (QDs) have gained significant attention as efficient photosensitizers for light-harnessing applications. While quantum dots are extensively employed in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), their exploration as sensitizers on metal oxide nanoparticles, such as TiO2 for dye sensitized photocatalytic systems (DSPs) remains relatively unexplored.
Dye‐Sensitized Photocatalysis: Hydrogen Evolution and Alcohol‐to‐Aldehyde Oxidation without Sacrifical Electron Donor
Green hydrogen (H2) is a potential clean energy carrier, stimulating the development of cheap and sustainable processes to produce this fuel from water and sunlight.
Engineering Te‐containing recognition modules for chalcogen bonding: towards supramolecular polymeric materials
Abstract Aiming at the preparation of one-dimensional (1D) chalcogen-bonded supramolecular polymers at the solid state, this work describes the different syntheses which have been challenged to obtain ditopic molecular modules. At first, tellurazolopyridyl (TZP) rings have been chosen as recognition units, given their well-proven ability and persistency to self-assemble through double Te∙∙∙N chalcogen bonds (ChBs).
Customising excitation properties of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by rational positional heteroatom doping: the peri-xanthenoxanthene (PXX) case
Customising excitation properties of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by rational positional heteroatom doping: the peri-xanthenoxanthene (PXX) case† Cataldo Valentini, a Duncan Gowland, b C. Grazia Bezzu, a Deborah Romito, c Nicola Demitri, d Nicola Bonini*b and Davide Bonifazi *ac Abstract In this paper we tackle the challenge of gaining control of the photophysical properties of PAHs through a site-specific N-doping within the structural aromatic framework.
Oxygen‐Doped PAH Electrochromes: Difurano, Dipyrano, and Furano‐Pyrano Containing Naphthalene‐Cored Molecules
Abstract The synthesis of naphthalenyl-cored O-doped small molecule electrochromes was achieved. In a single intramolecular Pummerer oxidative cycloetherification reaction, dipyrano, difurano, and furano-pyrano products could be obtained. All molecules showed p-type semiconducting and electrochromic properties, with the colour of the transition being dependent on the O-ring. Abstract In this work, we report the synthesis of O-doped naphthalene-based electrochromes.
