Denis Jelcic is a dedicated sports administrator, business owner, and community mentor with over 30 years of experience. As General Manager of the Inline Skating Club of America, he has played a key role in developing one of New Jersey’s top indoor sports facilities. His involvement with the New York Rangers Fan Engagement Department and Madison Square Garden shows a lasting commitment to sports, people, and service.
Denis brings practical knowledge in recreation management, league organization, and player development. Over the years, he has contributed as a high school official, youth coach, and supporter of positive fan experiences in professional settings. His steady presence in local and professional sports speaks to his passion and reliability.
Denis began working at 14, taking on part-time and full-time roles while volunteering in athletics. Early on, he coached, officiated, and organized youth leagues. These experiences gave him a strong foundation in leadership, responsibility, and teamwork. After college, he seized an opportunity to help manage a recreational facility, marking the beginning of his professional journey in sports.
Denis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City in June 1998 and later completed coursework in Education Administration at Montclair State University. This education helped prepare him for the demands of managing sports programs and leading teams.
From 1990 to 2000, Denis worked at Cliffside Park Recreation in New Jersey, where he created and led an inline roller hockey program, managed scheduling, and coached multiple sports. In 1999, he became General Manager of the Inline Skating Club of America. Between 2014 and 2020, he served Lyndhurst Public Schools as Assistant to the Athletic Director. In 2020, he joined Madison Square Garden, supporting uniform operations and later instructing in the Rangers Fan Engagement Department.
His facility has operated since 1995 and remains a steady presence in the community. Denis Jelcic’s lifelong involvement in sports reflects a career built on consistency, service, and a deep connection to the game.
