Best New Game Releases Of June 2026
We are fresh into the month of July, so let’s take a look back. We like to reflect on the past month to highlight the biggest games released. So instead, think of this as a list of games you might have missed out on or that you might want to pick up when you’re looking for something new to play.

Original The Witcher Game Cancellation Came From Idiocy Says Developer
The Witcher has become a massive household name. From humble beginnings as a novel series, the franchise has spawned a successful Netflix live-action adaptation and a series of video games from CD Projekt Red. However, before CD Projekt Red had its hands on the IP, another studio was attached to the game. Back in the 1990s, we almost had a very different take on The Witcher games with Metropolis Software.
The Last of Us Production Is Forced To Recast An Actor
For ages, it felt like there was no real hope of seeing solid adaptations of a video game franchise hit the big or small screen. These adaptations typically strayed too far from the source material, leaving fans of the original content let down and failing to captivate an audience outside the video game realm. However, that’s started to change lately.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Team Talks Trusting Instincts For Their Next Game
Sandfall Interactive quickly became a name to be recognized in the gaming industry. Their debut title wasn’t on fans’ calendars for 2025. Sure, there’s bound to be some fans who had some interest in the game from the marketing materials. However, it wasn’t until that game finally dropped into the marketplace that it created this massive frenzy.
Xbox Game Pass Players Are Losing These 5 Games
For many players, Xbox Game Pass has been their go-to source for games each month. Rather than going out to buy some new games regularly, you can pay a monthly fee to gain access to a wide range of games. It’s also a service available on consoles, PC, and in the cloud. So, if you’re after something new to enjoy regularly, this subscription service might be more than enough. At least, it might be more than enough to tie you over until that next major game drops on your radar.
A Missing Chapter For Resident Evil 4 Remake Has Been Uncovered
Resident Evil fans are ready to finally get their hands on the next major installment. We know that Resident Evil Requiem is coming our way next month. Fortunately, we do have some slightly new Resident Evil content to keep you engaged in the meantime. Don’t get too excited, it’s not a new game or series to sit in on. Instead, it looks like there’s a bit of new content we can watch that was cut from the Resident Evil 4 remake. It’s not unusual for games to have cut content.
Lionsgate Reveals A John Wick AAA Game Is Coming Our Way
John Wick has been a monster of a movie franchise. This series has spawned multiple installments, with fans enjoying the journey each installment takes them on. Keanu Reeves has portrayed this character for years now, and it looks like we might see him return to the video game space. Lionsgate has quite a few notable IPs under its umbrella, including this one. So far, we know of two particular franchises that will be hitting the video game marketplace sooner rather than later.
Does The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Have DLC Coming This Year?
CD Projekt Red has become a household name among many gamers. It wouldn’t be until their breakout RPG release, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, that most gamers put this development team on the radar. We’ve since seen Cyberpunk 2077 come out, along with confirmation of a sequel and another game coming to the beloved The Witcher franchise.
007 First Light Has Officially Been Delayed
There was a ton of hype over IO Interactive taking on the James Bond video game franchise. Their work with the Hitman franchise proved they can bring out a stealthy gameplay experience. With James Bond, they’ll be able to open things up a little more and give fans a more action-packed spy thriller. 007 First Light has garnered quite a bit of attention and fandom, with fans eagerly awaiting its release date. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a little longer, as the game has been delayed.
PlayStation Holiday Sale Has Kicked Off
Hey, we get it! Video games are far from cheap. New AAA releases can fetch upwards of $80, and that’s typically just the standard copy of the game. Things can get even crazier if you go for some of the special editions. Then you have the various DLCs and expansions to help keep you connected to the game a little while longer. While some AAA games are a must-buy in your eyes, knowing which to go for and what to hold off is crucial for that bank account of yours.
Bloober Team CEO Reveals Project M Vision Could Only Exist On Nintendo Hardware
Bloober Team has been known for delivering horror games to the marketplace. That’s their genre of choice, and they’ve stuck with that genre for years now. We’ve seen them bring out games like Layers of Fear, Observer, Blair Witch, and The Medium. However, it wouldn’t be until they were given access to remake and deliver Silent Hill 2 into the market.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Team Is Not Interested In Expanding
When Sandfall Interactive came into fruition, I’m sure there were more than a few developers who were just looking to get the game out into the marketplace. There were likely no expectations that the game would turn out to be the success it actually was at launch. Instead, the developers have become a name to recognize after Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Now all eyes are on the team as we wait to see what they bring out next.
Nintendo Is Ending Its Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle
Nintendo’s latest console release is a big one. The Nintendo Switch 2 has been a hit, and we’re sure it will continue to see success. However, one of the biggest bundle deals for the console was the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle. This bundle came with a copy of the biggest Switch 2 game at the time. However, that bundle is no longer being manufactured.
Cyberpunk 2077 Elevators Are Not Disguising Loading Screens
Cyberpunk 2077 was incredibly hyped. I probably don’t have to remind you of just how many fans there were waiting to get their hands on this game. Worldwide fans waited as CD Projekt Red slowly worked through the game. Each delay announcement was a pain to hear, but it was hopeful that the developers would be able to clear up any issues and deliver the game at its next scheduled launch.
Entire Halo Trilogy Could See Remakes
Halo has been around for decades now. Bungie really crafted something special, and it sparked a fandom craze for years. The original Halo trilogy is still played by fans today. Thanks to the Halo Master Chief Collection, we’re getting the ability to relive those glorious games on more modern platforms. That’s a nice relief if you were not fond of the games Halo Studios has been putting out since taking over control of the IP from Bungie.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 Might Have An Online Multiplayer Mode
Hogwarts Legacy was a surprise hit when it first launched. Fans couldn’t get enough of this RPG that tossed us into this iconic magical wizarding world. Players would dive into a story set well before the events of the novels and movies. Despite that, there was a lot of love for the game, with players eagerly awaiting the development team’s return to deliver another thrilling installment.
Don’t Bother Waiting For Xbox Wrapped 2025
Wow, does time truly fly. The year seemed to have come and gone out of nowhere. While I’m sure all of you are getting ready for the holiday festivities and those much-needed breaks from school or work, various wraps might keep you plugged in online. There are all kinds of subscription services now that offer these fun little end-of-year wrap-up posts. Unfortunately, Xbox Wrapped 2025 won’t be a thing, as reported online by a reliable industry insider.
Larian Studios Are Even Taking A Beating Over RAM Prices
If you are building a PC right now, then we know the struggle of dealing with RAM. Prices have been outrageous, leaving so many consumers paying through the roof for a kit. That’s always rough having to dig deeper into your pockets when a sudden price hike happens. Supply and demand right now may be in flux because of AI companies, and more than a few people are getting hit with these newfound RAM struggles.
OD Teaser Trailer Has A Major Hint You’re Not Seeing Says Hideo Kojima
When Hideo Kojima broke off from Konami and opened up his own studio, Kojima Productions, fans were ready to see what he would cook up. The famed developer, who has been around for decades, is best known for his Metal Gear franchise. However, there are certainly some other games he’s been keen on trying out. We’ve already received two games from this developer under his own studio. Those two are the Death Stranding games, but beyond that, there’s another mysterious project on the horizon.
Ark 2 Gets Delayed With The Game Now Slated For 2028
Ark was a big hit, and it’s been around for several years. It even had a new release not too long ago. The developers released an upgraded remaster that restored the original game, this time powered by Unreal Engine 5. So, needless to say, there’s been plenty of opportunities these past few years to enjoy this game. However, for several years now, we have known that Studio Wildcard had a full-on sequel coming to the marketplace. It was back in 2020 that we got our first look at Ark 2.

Fortunately, there are sales going on all the time to pick up some games, including this latest Steam sale event.
Perfect Dark Had Delivered Several Positive Milestones Says Actress
There was a lot of hype built up around the new studio under Microsoft’s Xbox division. Years ago, it was revealed that The Initiative had been established and was cooking something up. The problem was that we didn’t know what they were working on for years. But eventually, we found out that the game they would be bringing out as their debut title was a reboot of the Perfect Dark franchise. It was a huge announcement, and fans were ecstatic, but then came the hiatus.
Starfield To Reportedly Have An Overhaul Update Coming
Bethesda’s latest RPG to be released under their talented team at the studio is Starfield. This was the RPG that Todd Howard has been working on for ages. It’s also the game that has managed to push back two other notable franchises that fans have been waiting for. Those being The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series.
Light of Motiram Seemingly Axed After Lawsuit Settlement
I’m sure you’re all familiar with, or at very least have heard about, Light of Motiram. This game circulated online quite a bit for how closely it resembled Sony’s PlayStation Horizon franchise. Because the similarities were easy to spot, Sony was obviously disgruntled. After finding this game online and seeing that it was being marketed for release, they filed a lawsuit against Tencent. Their hope was to kill the game and ensure it never reached the marketplace.
Todd Howard Knows Fans Are Disappointed That There’s Not A New Fallout Game Ready
Fallout fans were ready to dive right back into the iconic and brutal wasteland. After the incredible hit debut season of the series, there were more than fans of the original games ready to see what this next chapter held. However, when the second season arrived, there was no new game announcement or surprise release. That left more than a few fans disappointed, and Todd Howard is very much aware of that.
Fans Uncover Another Potential Returnee In Resident Evil Requiem
Capcom has been building up Resident Evil for decades now. Given the long-running history of the video game franchise, one way they have gained towards their fanbase is through remakes. Fallout TV Show Will Have An Impact On Fallout 5 Says Todd Howard
Fallout fans might have all huddled around their TVs last night to catch the premiere of season 2’s live-action adaptation. We’ve gone a long time before we started to see some actual decent adaptations come out for video games. But lately, that’s changed with some big hits coming from video games, both old and new. One of those big hits that came out was Fallout. The live-action series was picked up and released on Amazon Prime Video, with that first season a hit.
Terminator: Survivors Is Making A Big Change As Devs Delay The Project
We had some slightly unfortunate news recently on the anticipated Terminator: Survivors game. While there were some fans who were ready to dive into this PvE-style experience set within the Terminator IP, that’s no longer happening. At least it’s not happening in the same style the developers initially planned. When Nacon Studio Milan started work on the game, it was, as stated, a game where you and your friends could jump into this apocalyptic world as you fought to keep humanity from extinction.
Divinity With The Help Of AI Will Be Ready In 4 Years
Larian Studios has a lot more attention on them now after their immense success with Baldur’s Gate 3. While the studio has been around for decades, it wouldn’t be until just a few years ago that everyone was talking about this team. Baldur’s Gate 3 was a massive hit and won a number of awards. So with all this newfound attention, money, and expansion for the studio, the bar of expectations is set incredibly high. The game that will hopefully meet, if not surpass, those expectations is Divinity.
THQ Nordic Reveals Reanimal Has Gone Gold
Tarsier Studios really made a name for themselves when they brought out the Little Nightmares franchise. Both the debut game and its sequel were incredibly well received, tossing players into this puzzle-platform game with a horror backdrop. While fans were ready for this team to continue on and bring out the next installment, that didn’t happen. Instead, Little Nightmares III was brought out from Supermassive Games, and as for Tasier Studios, they got to work on a brand-new IP, Reanimal.
Divinity Reveal Was Kept Secret From PlayStation & Xbox
Before The Game Awards kicked off, there was one big tease going around online. Everyone was wondering what the statue in the Mojave Desert was. It was this odd statue that popped up and was connected to an upcoming video game reveal during The Game Awards. However, that was about all we knew, with fans guessing which franchise it was connected to.
Dead Island 3 Launch Window Confirmed
Dead Island fans rejoice! We know a third installment is in the works, but now, in a financial report, it’s confirmed that this will be the main focus for Dambuster Studios shortly. That’s a big relief for fans of the franchise, because we all remember just how long it took Dead Island 2 to ship. That game was stuck in what felt like an endless hiatus. But now we know Dead Island 3 is in the works, with several areas of the game in early development.
Tomb Raider: Catalyst Will Be Welcoming To Newcomers
Tomb Raider fans were overjoyed with The Game Awards this year. It was a big ceremony for that franchise in particular. That’s because this was the event where we learned that two Tomb Raider games were in the works. One of those games is a remake, while the other marks a brand-new chapter in the long-running and beloved series. However, the latter game, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, won’t be set up so that only veteran players can enjoy it.

Resident Evil Will Reportedly Have Back-To-Back Remakes Starting In 2027
Resident Evil fans have been eating well for a long while now. After that slight misstep in a lot of fans’ eyes with Resident Evil 6, Capcom went back to the drawing board. Fortunately, everything that seems to have come out since for the mainline and remakes has done quite well. We’re getting a good collection of games ranging from brand-new releases to the overall story, along with some remakes. Right now, we know that the next game coming our way is Resident Evil Requiem.
Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic Might Be Out Sooner Than You Think
For a lot of Star Wars fans, we have been waiting for something to come from that fabled remake announcement for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. That game was a massive hit when it was released and is still a cherished Star Wars game today. However, the RPG that so many fans have been waiting for its remake mainly sits in hiatus. We haven’t seen anything in a long time, but there is some good news here to share. I’m sure you all are familiar with Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic by now.
Gears of War: E-Day Still On Schedule For 2026
Fans of the video game industry worldwide tuned into The Game Awards 2025 last night. It’s the big last event of the year. We get to see the various accomplishments of the developers who launched their games into the marketplace this year. Credit is given to these talented teams, and a few of them even walk away with awards. Arguably, the biggest game from that event, with several awards, was Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Epic Games Store Handing Out 17 Games For Free This Month
Epic Games Store has been a major contender in digital PC gaming. After Valve dominated the marketplace with Steam, it was Epic Games Store that looked to really compete in a few ways. For years now, Epic Games Store has been giving away a free game or two each week.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was a big contender for a lot of awards this year. It was a game beloved by so many players the day it launched in the marketplace. Sure, it might not have caught too many players’ attention prior to its launch, but afterward, it was the game everyone was talking about. So, there’s a good chance you’ve already gone through this title. However, if it still eludes you, then there’s likely a good chance you might be a little more interested in checking this one out.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Just Got A Big Update
Sandfall Interactive’s debut title, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was something quite remarkable. While it might not have caught everyone’s attention when it was first announced, its release was a game everyone was talking about. There were so many players digging into this title that it was easily a contender right out of the gate for Game of the Year. But beyond that, it was a game that likely took the developers by surprise with how much love and praise it would receive.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis & Catalyst Revealed
Tomb Raider fans expected something this year at The Game Awards. Fortunately, Geoff Keighley gave us a heads-up on X that something for the franchise was on the way. We just didn’t know what. Video games take the spotlight here, but we also expect a Tomb Raider live-action series to launch on Amazon Prime Video. So there was a bit of anticipation to find out just what exactly would be showcased from this franchise.
Control Resonant Officially Announced For 2026
Remedy Entertainment has been cooking. They have been working on some projects, but one game franchise we knew was being developed was Control 2. The first Control was a huge hit, and it gave Remedy Entertainment the ability to expand the universe beyond Alan Wake. Players were following Jesse Faden, the new director of the Oldest House. If you’ve been following the game and even the spinoff title, FBC: Firebreak, there’s been some real interest in learning what was coming next.
